LABUST has taken part in many scientific research projects relating to underwater systems and technologies in various roles. This includes numerous international (FP7, H2020, ONRG, INTERREG,...) as well as national projects.
In January this year, Marko Barišić headed towards South America, to the Commonwealth of Dominica for an in-depth glider training as part of UWIN-LABUST project. Together with colleagues from Harvard and Haifa University, among others from the CETI project, an intensive week of training was carried out with the help of ALSEAMAR experts to master managing the high-tech glider in the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Operating the glider is essential for moving near the whales and capturing their communication to achieve advancements and breakthroughs in interspecies communication, essentially trying to understand whales.
