LABUST' PhD students Anja Babić, Nadir Kapetanović and Igor Kvasić attended IEEE-OES and MTS OCEANS 2019 Marseille Conference & Exhibit held from 17th until 20th June and presented our newest research results.

Anja Babić, as the Chairwoman of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (IEEE OES) Student Branch Chapter (SBC) University of Zagreb was chosen to be on the panel of judges for the OCEANS 2019 Student Poster Competition.

Nadir Kapetanović presented his paper Side-Scan Sonar Data-Driven Coverage Path Planning: A Comparison of Approaches in a poster session and Igor Kvasić presented the preliminary results of his PhD thesis research in the paper titled Convolutional Neural Network Architectures for Sonar-Based Diver Detection and Tracking.

Dr. Edin Omerdić from the University of Limerick, Ireland, presented a joint research paper titled Multi-Modal Supervision Interface Concept for Marine Systems as a result of collaboration of University of Zagreb and University of Limerick through the H2020-TWINNING project EXCELLABUST.

They also participated in workshops, tutorials and lectures and got the chance to discuss the newest marine robotics topics from their research fields with world-renowned experts from both academia and industry.
