LABUST has taken part in many scientific research projects relating to underwater systems and technologies in various roles. This includes numerous international (FP7, H2020, ONRG, INTERREG,...) as well as national projects.
Our team members Antonio Vasilijević, Nadir Kapetanović, and Nikica Kokir took part in a survey expedition of the SMS Szent István shipwreck on 9-11.06.2019. The shipwreck is located in Croatian territorial waters, approx. 8 nmi out of island Premuda. This was a collaboration of the Croatian Conservation Institute and LABUST, with the logistical backup provided by the Croatian Special Police Forces. LABUST members provided bathymetry services with the in-house developed ASV named PlaDyBath, as well as side-scan sonar and visual surveys of the area by the AUV Lupis. Detailed visual inspection by the ROV named BLUEROV2 for the photogrammetric reconstruction of the ship's stern was also planned but unfortunately had to be postponed due to bad weather.
