LABUST has taken part in many scientific research projects relating to underwater systems and technologies in various roles. This includes numerous international (FP7, H2020, ONRG, INTERREG,...) as well as national projects.
On 24 November 2023, at the celebration of the Day of FER, Nadir Kapetanović, PhD was awarded the Silver Plaque "Josip Lončar" for the academic year 2022/2023 for particularly successful doctoral dissertation and research work titled "Complete coverage of large seabed areas using sonar data-based path planning for an autonomous marine vehicle" under the mentorship of Prof. Nikola Mišković (UNIZG-FER) and Prof. Adnan Tahirović (UNISA-ETF). The award was presented by FER's Dean Prof. Vedran Bilas, PhD.
