LABUST has taken part in many scientific research projects relating to underwater systems and technologies in various roles. This includes numerous international (FP7, H2020, ONRG, INTERREG,...) as well as national projects.
Four members of LABUST attended the OCEANS 2025 conference & exhibition in Brest, France from 16 to 19 June, presenting papers related to several on-going projects. Assistant Professor Fausto Ferreira presented the MASK project with the paper "Teaching AI and marine robotics to high school students – the experience of the MASK project", Magdalena Šimunec presented the Smart Blue Tourism project with "Smart Blue Tourism: Towards smart marinas and tourist boats", Matej Fabijanić presented YOLO-Based Depth Estimation From Monocular Camera Images for Object Detection at Sea and Matko Batoš presented Identifying IMU Noise Characteristics from USV Trajectories. This was an excellent opportunity for dissemination as OCEANS is a leading event bringing together more than 700 stakeholders in the marine technology industry.
