LABUST has taken part in many scientific research projects relating to underwater systems and technologies in various roles. This includes numerous international (FP7, H2020, ONRG, INTERREG,...) as well as national projects.
Matej Fabijanić attended WACV 2025 – the IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision – where he presented the paper "Vessel Registration Number Detection and Recognition System" during the workshop program and later at the poster session. At the workshop he also shared his insights from the "Approximate Supervised Object Distance Estimation" challenge, where LABUST secured 2nd place, winning an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, sponsored by ShieldAI. The conference, held in Tucson, Arizona, brought together over 1,000 experts and software engineers to discuss the latest advancements in computer vision. Researchers from NVIDIA, Google DeepMind, Adobe, and other leading institutions also participated, contributing cutting-edge insights to the field.
